And apart from the slow boot and some what slower response it works excellent. It wasn't very hard to get it going. to ACPI V2.0 or ACPI v3.0 and windows X64 now detects 4 GB RAM.... I unchecked the box, rebooted and everything is fine now. its not a major loss though as all my media and software are stored on DVD's and external storage...

I have also tried using the boot discs repair facility to check/fix boot up problems, but it was also clean. Just finished doing all the updates, going to re-boot, put the 1GB back n and post back with 3GB!
