You will find CAPTURE command in FILE menu in almost all softwares. I know that the cable and Firewire card are good, since the old camcorder is recognized using the same cable and port. Then what in every possible software existed on my system, DV Capture was available, which was found always disabled. Thanks. navigate here
This looks like a great place to hang out. Then I started from scratch, TO DECIDED TO READ MANUAL. It seems that a number of people have been able to get their camcorders recognized by using a firewire, but my computers don't have firewire ports. I tried a firewire to usb cable, but Vista does not suport uSB streaming.
Sorry, there was a problem flagging this post. If it is possible, could someone please help me understand how to do that? I bought two 4 pin cables but decided to use the Sony handcam one and keep the other 4 pin to 4 pin as a spare and the PCI adapter came At this point, I am at a loss as to what the issue could be.
I REALYY FEDUP WITH THAT... I have a Sony Handycam. Quote 14th Jun 200708:07 #4 JohnnyMalaria View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message Visit Homepage Member Join DateMay 2006 LocationUnited States When you say Vista won't recognize it, how are thanks.
Hope this is correct! Now the funny part it, technically there is no difference in 6pin to 4pin Firewire cable as two pins are used for Voltage which is discarded at 4 pin end. It came with 6pin to 4pin Firewire cable(Sony calls it i.Link). I took the camcorder to a friend's house, and tried connecting the camcorder to their PC.
Manual and JVC tech support are very unhelpful. Please help. e) Enjoy..... Sort that out - look in my post above - if not - download the Sony Picture Utility 4.2 - http://sony-picture-utility.software.informer.com/.
I developed so many videos but cannot upload to pc now.I have 2 firewire cables 6pin for desktop and 4pin for laptop.I phoned microsoft they said they dont support 98, checked Plug in both ends of the cable and switch the camera on in VCR/playbackmode, is there a menu setting in the camera? PLEASE HELP!!! If not, turn off everything and try again (you can also try reversing the order, ie.
I'm not sure what the 'a' is for in 1394a but I would try a regular 1394 card. http://brainybooks.net/vista-won-t/vista-won-t-install-plz-help.html More resources Tom's Hardware Around the World Tom's Hardware Around the World Russia France Germany UK Italy USA Subscribe to Tom's Hardware Search the site Ok About Tom's Hardware Advertising About It came with 6pin to 4pin Firewire cable(Sony calls it i.Link). review72 November 8, 2009 4:28:26 AM Okay we have had the same problem for over a month. does it try to install the new device and then fails? STILL...NO LUCK.... his comment is here Mo...
The minute I connected the camcorder to my PC using this cable my troubles were over. So these are the final things to remember. -------------------------------------------------------- 1) Use only 4pin to 4pin Firewire cable (any cheaper make. $1.5 will do) 2) Use any cheaper FIREWIRE PCI card with I'm using a good 4pin to 4 pin firewire cable too.
If that fails, I'll just use the work computer to capture all my tapes, then look at getting a camera that uses HDMI connections or a hard drive from which I I get default video with 720x576 with 25 Frames/s in PAL mode. 4) No additional codecs are required to install in pc like others suggested. see page 87 of your manual. solution SolvedSony installation software of Handycam HDD solution SolvedSony Handycam pj540 or Canon vixia r52?
Then we read a post that said you needed to get a Sony brand firewire 4 to 4 pin cable...we had bought a Belkin cable. God knows why the Firewire cable is not a standard thing (well, maybe it is; my issues with the camcorder detection started a year after the detection went without a glitch; But it seems SONY Handycam does not wants itself to connect it to 6pin socket at PCI card end. http://brainybooks.net/vista-won-t/vista-won-t-network-with-xp.html I also have Adobe CS4 Premiere Pro which just tells me my capture device is "offline".
