The adapter is connected via USB to a new Windows 8 Lenovo Desktop PC with Intel HD Graphics. That might have a feature to automatically run at startup, or it might just make it easier to add the display manually after you have started it up. It may help fix the problem. It appears that if you try and uninstall DisplayLink Core Software, it looks like its uninstalled, but if you press F5 to refresh the Programs list, it is still there. I have gone into display settings to try to get it to work and no joy. I am concerned that it would hold off other future windows 10 updates.
